Every wedding we do is special to us. Every couple, and every day, always leaves an imprint in our hearts. Reagan and Collin’s Modern Black and White wedding was no different. I’ve known Reagan since my early teens and have enjoyed growing up with her and seeing all of her successes, so playing a role in her wedding day was icing on the cake. When I think of Reagan, a few words I would use to describe her would be: intelligent, bold, determined, hardworking, beautiful and remarkable. When it came to designing her wedding, I wanted those words to be felt throughout.
A Family Affair
For the Langemeier Family – we’ve been lucky enough to do all three of the daughters weddings. There’s nothing more special to me than getting to plan and design weddings for clients who I’ve worked with before. It’s the greatest compliment when a family comes back again for a second, and in Reagan’s case, a third wedding. What I love most is how different all three daughters are, and how their personalities shined through in each wedding through their flowers.
Clean, Classic and Chic
When it came to planning her wedding, Reagan wanted a very clean, classic – but modern-chic look. She envisioned all white florals, with black accents. All guests to wear black, and a more modern feel to her venue, The Chandelier of Gruene, which can often take on a more farm house/rustic feel. We love a good challenge in transforming a space – and I think we did just that!
Babies Breath, but Make it Chic
So often here in Texas, when you hear the words babies breath – you immediately think of mason jar vases with simple babies breath stems filling the jar. You all know what I’m talking about… and we’re glad to say we’re leaving that look in 2006 and praying it never comes back, LOL. Babies breath truly does get a bad wrap a lot of the time. But recently we’re seeing a shift in the floral design world using it in much larger quantities in a more modern way – and we’re a big fan of it!
Modern Black and White Textiles
One of my favorite ways to play with texture, color and design throughout a wedding day is through the different textiles we select. Our full-service wedding clients have full access to our full rental inventory which includes vases, candles, candleholders, floral stands and countless other options. To keep along Reagan’s chic vibe – we stuck with black and acrylic accents throughout the candles, floral stands and vases we used.
Modern Take, While Still Traditional
It’s few and far between these days for us to have a Traditional Church wedding, that then goes into a reception at a wedding venue. Most wedding venues here in the Texas Hill Country include both a reception space for the party, as well as a stunning chapel or outdoor ceremony location for the vows to take place. It was important for Reagan + Collin for them to be married in her home church, Cross Lutheran, and then transition over to The Chandelier. Reagan had a smaller, intimate wedding party of just her sisters and sister-in-law, and had a larger group of her closest friends as her “something blue.” I loved this sweet gesture in including all of her dearest friends, while keeping the ceremony a bit more intimate.
Black and White Wedding Attire
While looking through Reagan’s stunning album, I couldn’t help but love how all of the guests and people in photos are all in black. Reagan made a point to encourage guests to wear black to the wedding through their invites and I love that all guests followed along and really matched her black and white wedding vibe.
