Tent florals at a Hill Country wedding venue

Our Favorite Hill Country Wedding Venues for Stunning Florals

If you’re searching for the most beautiful hill country wedding venues to say “I do,” you are in the right place. Central Texas has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country – sprawling oak trees, open acreage, golden light, and that photo-esque vibe we all know and love. As a Central Texas wedding florist, I’ve had the privilege of creating at some truly stunning spaces throughout the Texas Hill Country – and honestly? The scenery is really what takes the cake. It gives every wedding that dreamy, elevated backdrop that makes flowers really come to life. Today I’m pulling back the curtain on five of my absolute favorite venues to design for and sharing exactly what makes each one so special from a floral perspective.

Why the Texas Hill Country is a Dream for Wedding Florals

There is something truly magical about designing flowers in the Hill Country. The scenery you get here is really what takes the cake – the sprawling trees, the rolling acreage, the big open skies. It gives such a photo-esque vibe that brides and guests alike absolutely love. And from a florist’s perspective? That natural backdrop does so much of the work for us. When you’re surrounded by that kind of beauty, every arrangement, arch, and installation feels even more elevated.

These five venues are ones I keep coming back to – each for very different reasons. Let me walk you through why I love them.

01. The Preserve at Canyon Lake

✦Best for: Every style imaginable – this one does it all

I love that the Preserve is truly a blank canvas. We have done so many different styles of wedding flowers here, and each feels completely unique within the venue. There are no crazy carpet colors to compete with, no built-in structures that limit what you can do – nothing crazy like that. You can add as much as you want, or as little, and it always looks amazing.

But what I truly love most about The Preserve is their ceremony space. It gives you such an intimate setting that genuinely feels serene – almost like getting married in a church. That sense of reverence and calm is something that’s really hard to find in a venue, and I think from a bride’s perspective, it’s a huge win.

Favorite floral moment here: We’ve done several really big, fun weddings at The Preserve with a TON of flowers! Some of my absolute favorites have featured full florals down the entire aisle, overhead table florals, and floral towers in the hallway. The space can handle it all beautifully.

Floral palette inspiration: Because The Preserve is so neutral, it truly works 50/50 – we’ve done gorgeous all-white and green weddings that feel elevated and formal, and we’ve done bright, bold color palettes that pop off the clean backdrop. The venue never fights your vision, it just elevates it.

02. The Videre

✦Best for: Couples who want a show-stopping, one-of-a-kind ceremony view

The Videre is one of those venues that makes you stop and just take it all in. My favorite part? The outdoor ceremony space overlooking the water. It’s such a unique space in comparison to other Hill Country venues – there’s really nothing else quite like it. That view alone creates a backdrop that is absolutely breathtaking for florals and photos.

We’ve only had the pleasure of designing here twice so far, but I already can’t wait to do more! One of those weddings was particularly fun – we designed a cake install that I loved, and then the long tables with bud vases and candles created the most beautifully uniform, cohesive look throughout the reception. Simple, intentional, and stunning.

Florist’s note: The outdoor ceremony space here, with that water view, practically begs for something soft and romantic – flowing greenery, loose garden-style arrangements, and lots of organic texture.

03. Dos Palomas Ranch

✦Best for: The bride who wants Hill Countrycharm with a polished, elevated touch

Dos Palomas Ranch is one of my favorites because it gives you the best of both worlds. You get that authentic Hill Country feel – the land, the outdoors, the atmosphere – but it’s paired with clean, crisp architecture throughout the building that keeps things feeling fresh and beautiful. It’s a little more ranch-vibes, but still incredibly refined.

Spaces like Dos Palomas, with more of an outdoor presence and natural surroundings, tend to bring a bit more color into our designs. There’s something about being surrounded by the land that inspires warm, earthy palettes – think terracotta, rust, coral, and peach mixed with lush greenery.

04. The Arlo

✦Best for: Couples who want maximum flexibility and creative design possibilities

The Arlo is another one of those beautiful blank spaces for me, and the possibilities are truly endless! What I especially love about this venue is how incredibly versatile it is. They have several ceremony locations, both inside and out. We’ve also used both of those spaces in completely different ways: cocktail hour, a bar area, a photobooth setup. The space can be utilized in so many creative configurations, and I love that for couples who want a design that’s really uniquely theirs!

One of my favorite weddings at The Arlo? We completely transformed the outdoor ceremony space into the cocktail hour area and created a really fun install on the fireplace mantel – plus flowers in the tree. It was one of those designs where every corner had a moment, and guests were discovering little floral details throughout the whole event.

05. Windemere Farms

✦Best for: The couple who wants something truly one-of-a-kind

Okay, can we just talk about Windemere Farms for a second? This one is a big favorite of mine because there is simply no other venue in the Hill Country like it. The entire reception space is a sailcloth tent, and that alone makes it incredibly special and architecturally beautiful. Add in the fact that the farm itself has horses and buffalo roaming around, and you’ve got this incredibly magical, storybook backdrop that I think is so fun and unique.

Yes – all outdoor venues in Texas can feel a little scary (hello, weather!). But the beauty of Windemere is absolutely worth it. The sailcloth tent gives you that dreamy filtered light and organic structure that makes florals look absolutely stunning inside it.

Favorite floral moment here: We did a fun install on the front poles of the tent as guests walked in – which created such an incredible first impression, and then another install on the grand piano inside the space. Two statement pieces, completely different in scale, and both absolutely show-stopping.

What Makes These Hill Country Wedding Venues So Special for Florals

If there’s one thing all five of these venues have in common, it’s that they give us room to create. I am obsessed with a blank canvas – because I truly believe a blank space leaves SO much room for creativity. That’s where we get to design out of the box and make each wedding different. Sometimes, at venues that have built-in arches or permanent structures, you’re a little limited in what you can do. But at spaces like these? The sky is the limit – literally.

The Texas Hill Country as a whole also just does something to your design instincts. The outdoor venues like Windemere and Dos Palomas tend to bring out those warmer, more colorful palettes – rich blooms that feel at home in the landscape. While venues like The Preserve and The Arlo are a beautiful 50/50 – we either lean into all-white and green for something more formal and clean, or we go full color to make those bright blooms pop off the white backdrop. Both are stunning. Both are very much in our wheelhouse.
