Throughout design history, we see styles go in and out – come and go, but one style that will never go out – is the blue and white Chinoiserie pattern. In the past year we’ve seen a lot of our clients being drawn back to using the design elements of the Chinoiserie style and we are HERE. FOR. IT.
Picking Your Wedding Colors
After the excitement of the engagement and brides start planning their dream weddings, one of the first things they tackle is their wedding color palette. This is one of my favorite parts of designing with clients. Color palette can truly change and bring a wedding to life. Wether it be pastel spring colors, like Allie + Andrew’s Wedding. Fun, vibrant summer-tones like Jessa + Morgan’s Wedding. Traditional white and green like Chloe + Matt’s Wedding. Or like GeorgeAnna, a sweet blue and white wedding with touches of peach. When I asked GeorgeAnna if she could describe her wedding in 3 words, she used: Timeless, Elegant and Traditional. Nothing screams those three words better than a Chinoiserie vase.
Building a Floral Color Palette: Blue and White
Building a floral color palette depends on a lot of different factors. Venue, season, over-all wedding vibes, bridesmaids dresses and more. Curating a seamless and beautiful color palette is key and the flowers you select play a big part in this as well. GeorgeAnne knew she wanted to incorporate the tones and textures of chinoiserie vases so we based our palette off of the white and blue tones that come along with the vases, and then added a fun pop of peach for a little bit of color throughout.
Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses
A recent trend I am loving is using mismatched dresses for bridesmaids. Especially with a large bridal party like GeorgeAnna had, the different shades and patterns of blue and white looked so great on the girls and gave a lot of texture and dimension to the overall look. Some of my favorite places to purchase mismatched bridesmaids dresses are Revelry and Birdy Grey!
Textured Linens are Always a Must!
Another favorite way of mine to add in color and texture to a wedding day is through the linens on the tables. GeorgeAnna picked a stunning, textured linen from BBJ Latovala for the round guest tables and they we to die for!
Creating Your Classic, Timeless, Wedding
Some of my favorite pieces of the day that made this wedding exactly how GeorgeAnna imagined: Timeless and Classic. Lush, vibrant florals. A stunning custom monogram crest and paper goods. Sweet moments with each other and their family and friends and much, much more. Check out more of their stunning wedding.
