It’s always fun when you get to be part of someone’s wedding that you know personally. I was so excited when Avery contacted me about her and Dan’s wedding at Contigo Ranch! Avery and I met while in college at A&M in College Station. Some of her bridesmaids also happened to be friends of mine. It was like stepping into a mini reunion when we were setting up for their day!
The biggest thing that blew me away about Avery and Dan’s wedding day was Kelly’s, Avery’s mom, skills in planning and design. She should be a wedding planner/designer because her attention to detail and design in planning Avery’s wedding were INSANE. So many crazy good ideas were part of this special day!
Dusty Blue Wedding With a Twist
The dusty blue and white color palette is a beautiful one for weddings, but sometimes it can feel like everyone is doing it. Avery loved this color combination but wanted to do something to differentiate their day. We decided on a pop of fuschia and it did not disappoint. I am still obsessed with it!
God Winks Throughout the Day
They had these things called “God winks”. There were signs that people who have passed are showing you to show that they are present in the day. They were hidden throughout different things throughout the wedding day, and her mom had the calligrapher make a big sign explaining each of them and what they meant. It was such a sweet touch to bring in loved ones who have passed into the day.
Details from Paper Garten
Paper Garten designed different signage and elements for the day and to say I was obsessed is an understatement. It was all so unique and personal to Avery and Dan. Two of my favorite pieces from the day were the custom crest and the handpainted Veuve bottles.
Fiesta Wedding Favors
Avery’s family has ties to Fiesta and I loved how they tied this in with favors of spice bottles. This is one wedding favor I would have definitely been excited to receive as a guest! It was such a clever and cute idea.
