While I have many favorite venues to flower at, there is nothing more exciting than the chance to be creative at a new venue. A new space, a new ceremony and reception setup, and many, many more places for us to add in some beautiful florals. It’s hard to believe that this styled shoot is coming up on a year since we did it, but we had the pleasure of helping The Preserve at Canyon Lake put together their first styled shoot. And when we say that this venue is amazing – this venue is A M A Z I N G!
The Venue
The Preserve at Canyon Lake is one of the newest venues available to couples who wish to get married in the Texas Hill Country. It is an elegant and spacious venue with over 15,000 covered square feet. It can host 300+ guests and is the perfect blank slate for your imagination to run wild.
Indoor Chapel Overlooking the Water
First up in this gorgeous venue, is the chapel. The towering panoramic windows provide breathtaking views of the Texas hill country, overlooking a private lake. This is the perfect backdrop to say ‘I do’ and makes for a gorgeous setting no matter how you decide to decorate it.
Grand Staircase
Any place that we can add more flowers to your day is our favorite, but the grand staircase that descends between the chapel and ballroom made our jaw drop. Not only is it the perfect spot for a few portraits of the newlyweds, it can be used as a focal point with additional florals, your cake set in the alcove, guest sign table and more.
The Ballroom
Simple, yet elegant, are the first two thoughts that came to mind when I first saw the ballroom at The Preserve. Its light and airy interior accompanied by exposed wood beam ceilings and grand fireplace is the perfect combination for a space that is sure to provide your guests with an unforgettable experience.
Chic Bridal Suite
There’s nothing like a beautiful space to get ready with your best gals on your wedding day! The bridal suite at The Preserve is the dreamiest and most well designed space. Plus, you can’t go wrong with the oversized Anthropologie mirror in the space!
Outdoor Space
Last, but most certainly not least, is the outdoor space. It is a beautiful option for your post ceremony portraits and the options are truly endless when it comes to deciding where to take them! Along with the beautiful photo op along the lake, there is a patio that is perfect for your cocktail hour to be held outside to show your guests a bit of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The Shoot
Designing in a space like The Preserve at Canyon Lake is the perfect blank slate for literally any color scheme. With many areas to bring different elements into the space, we weren’t short of inspiration when it came time to design for this shoot.
Our goal was to create a classic wedding day with pops of pink and unique florals. We knew that we wanted to highlight areas of the venue such as the view through the windows in the chapel, the staircase and the fireplace in the ballroom. We brought in fun elements such as unique jewelry from Nicole Mera and gorgeous lace detailed bridal shoes from Bella Belle.
