Say hello to the styled shoot of my dreams! During a hot summer day in Texas, I had the chance to work with an amazing group of vendors to bring this Garden Party styled shoot to life at the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden in Austin, Texas for Brides of Austin. The gorgeous design paired with the abundant white florals and lush garden of UMLAUF brought this entire day together perfectly!
When we started planning, my main focus was bringing different textures into the day through the floral elements we would be using. Mixing in textures to break up colorful florals is one of my favorite ways to add depth to the decor. For this shoot, that included potted herbs, compotes and frog pin florals. It was a unique way to bring the Garden Party style of the day to life and I can’t wait for the chance to add them into upcoming weddings!
Choosing a favorite aspect of any design is always hard. But, if I had to choose a favorite from this shoot, it has to be the acrylic seating chart with envelopes that Megan from Owl & Envelope put together. Our white florals were the perfect final touch to this unique seating chart!
To finish off the day, we brought all of our candle rentals. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. And it brought everything together so well! Candles are a great finishing touch to fill in the decor alongside the floral arrangements you have chosen for your day.
While not all pieces can be repurposed throughout your day, larger pieces can often be moved between the ceremony and reception. For this shoot, the arch was used for both the ceremony space and the reception space. If you are thinking of doing this, make sure to let your planner and the vendor who installs it – often the florist – that you want to make sure it gets used in two different places for your day!
