I think the Hill Country lends itself to the feel of fall better than almost anywhere else in Texas. The trees and leaves start changing colors, and the open fields and natural elements so many of these venues have really start to shine once the crazy summer temperatures finally subside. After a long, hot Texas summer, there’s something so satisfying about walking into a venue where the light is golden, the air doesn’t feel like a hair dryer 😂, and every arrangement we build gets to lean into the season instead of fighting it.
That’s part of why so many of our couples choose a fall date for their Hill Country wedding. It’s not just about the calendar, it’s about the whole experience feeling easier, prettier, and a little more relaxed.
Fall Wedding Color Palettes We’re Loving
Here’s a little secret: my favorite thing about fall weddings isn’t the classic orange-and-brown palette everyone pictures first. It’s using fun textures and color palettes that still say “fall,” but with a more unique spin. My go-to colors this season are burgundy, terra cotta, peaches, champagne, browns, dusty rose, and mauve. Terra cotta alone can carry so much of that cozy, autumn feeling, and when you soften it with champagnes and peaches, it stops feeling like a Halloween party and starts feeling like an elevated, romantic fall day.

Our Favorite Fall Flowers & Textures
When it comes to actual blooms, I love leaning into what’s naturally in season here in Central Texas during the fall. Some of my current favorites include quicksand and toffee roses, peach and burgundy ranunculus, burgundy astilbe, scabiosa pods, stock, zinnias, and dahlias or disbuds. For texture, smokebush is a personal favorite, along with gorgeous greenery like nandina, copper beech, and agonis.
Our design approach shifts a bit in the fall compared to spring or summer. We get to use foliage that’s naturally growing during this time of year, and being able to work with what’s actually thriving outside makes a huge difference in how organic and effortless everything feels.

A Fall Wedding That Captured It All: Emily & Pablo
One of my favorite examples of a fall Hill Country wedding is Emily and Pablo’s day at The Allen Farmhaus, one of our favorite Hill Country wedding venues. Emily wanted to merge her roots of growing up in Hill Country farm life with a wedding that still felt formal and sophisticated. Our selection of black textiles and glass textures helped give the day that elevated, fall feel without overpowering the natural, farmhouse charm of the venue.
My personal favorite pieces from that day were the greenery installations on the chandeliers and the suspended floral piece inside the reception space. Both really helped soften the room and bring everything together. The color palette merged seamlessly with the dresses and the feel of fall, without ever screaming “this is Halloween!” 😅 (We were pretty proud of that balance.)
