And trust me, I get it! Those pieces matter. But after designing weddings all over Central Texas, I can tell you that some of the most photographed, most talked-about floral moments of the day are the ones couples almost never think to add flowers to.
Today, I’m walking you through the little details I always notice when I look at a space – the spots where even a simple floral moment completely transforms the room (and your gallery). These are the details I don’t want you to forget.

1. Floral Signage
I love adding florals to signage – welcome signs, statement pieces for seating charts, all of it. Adding florals always helps add emphasis to these pieces, and it also helps direct people toward certain areas. When I look at a space, I love to look for the areas that, as a guest, I would stop and take a photo with. Your signage is almost always one of them!
A welcome sign is the very first “hello” your guests get. Give it a floral moment and watch how many phones come out. 🤳🏼

2. Bar Florals (Don’t Skip the Bar!)
I love flowers at the bar and hate to see an empty bar. Some venues and bartenders don’t love floral pieces on the bar – but to me, it makes SUCH an impact. Think about it: the guests utilize that bar ALL night. It’s one of the highest-traffic spots at your entire reception, so why leave it bare?
A little floral here goes a long way – and honestly, it’s one of the details brides tend to push back on at first and then end up loving.

3. Cocktail Hour + Lounge Areas
A lot of times, it feels like these are the areas that are least photographed. Brides rarely think of cocktail hours or lounge areas – partly because those spaces aren’t heavily photographed often, since cocktail hour is when all the personal photos are happening. But here’s the thing: that’s exactly when your guests are mingling, sipping, and taking their own photos.
A simple floral moment in a lounge area or cocktail space makes those candid guest photos feel intentional and pulled-together, and it fills a spot that would otherwise sit totally empty.

4. A Little Something in the Ladies’ Restroom
This one is just for fun, and it’s one of my favorites. I love adding any “extra” pieces we have to the ladies’ restroom – it always adds a special touch for me! It’s such an unexpected place to find flowers, and your guests notice every single time.
Bridal suite arrangements fall into this same category. The girls spend so much time getting ready – yes, it’s “extra,” but having a floral piece in there to look at, smell, and have in photos makes everything more aesthetically pleasing.
5. Guestbook + Memory Table Pieces
Guestbook table pieces can always be unexpected – but again, they make a huge impact. Your guests typically see the guestbook table area before the reception, and even before the ceremony site. It’s their first glimpse of what the florals and the wedding vibe are all about. I love a wow piece here!
The same goes for a memory table. It’s one of those little spots that quietly showcases how much intention went into your day.

6. Cake Flowers Your Guests Will Go Crazy For
Guests LOVE wedding cake. I feel like anytime we do statement florals on a cake, the guests go crazy for it! Cake flowers are one of those details that feel small from a budget standpoint but leave such a lasting impression.
It’s a tiny investment for a moment that ends up front-and-center in so many of your reception photos.

7. Flat Lay + Detail Florals for Your Photographer
Detail florals for flat lay photos make such a big impact on the final gallery delivered by your photographer. I love seeing shots of invites or details with the coordinating florals. It’s where everything just comes full circle!
These little pieces tie your invitation suite, your rings, and your day’s whole color story together in those opening pages of your gallery. My favorite albums are the ones that include florals in every area and detail. These are often things my clients haven’t thought about yet during our first conversation, but to me – they make such a big impact. Most clients who have full service coordinators really look into all the design details – like how the linens, place settings, and florals all come together.
